Throughout the month of December, the Smithtown Fire Department made efforts to help some families in need during the holidays by collecting toys and food at it's headquarters location on 100 Elm Ave in Smithtown. The drive concluded during the Christmas parade on December 14th where we continued to accept donations of toys and food. Approximately 10 cases of food and 25 toys were collected and donated. The toys went to St. Patrick's Church Parish Outreach for distribution to Smithtown families in need. The food went to the Smithtown Food Pantry.
