A signal 16/23 (Ambulance requested/Motor Vehicle Accident – Heavy Rescue) was toned out to the Smithtown Fire Department at 23:26 (11:26pm) with the location of Route 25 and Terry Road.
Upon arrival units went to work on a four vehicle accident with debris and the vehicles involved covering an area from Terry Road west to Plaza Drive.
Four patients were transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center with their conditions unknown. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
Working at the scene were Chiefs 4-2-30 (Duffy), 4-2-31 (Hansen) and 4-2-33 (Murphy), Engine 4-2-5, Rescue 4-2-9 and Ambulances 4-2-61, 4-2-62 and 4-2-64.
