Class A Training in Yaphank
MAY 18
- On May 16th, The Smithtown Fire Department went to the Suffolk County Fire Academy in Yaphank for Class A training. This training was under the supervision of 3rd Assistant Chief Kevin Fitzpatrick and had a great turnout. Single car MVA into a tree
APRIL 13
- A 16/23 (ambulance requested/motor vehicle accident –overturn) was toned out to the Smithtown Fire Department at 1:30PM at Sandalwood Drive and Mt. Pleasant Road. Upon arrival units came upon a pickup truck into a tree and both occupant were self extricated. Both driver and passenger were transported to Stony Brook University. Their condition is unknown. ... A two car Heavy Rescue MVA with a fully involved car fire

- At 9:30 PM on April 2nd, The Smithtown Fire Department was dispatched for a two car Heavy Rescue Motor Vehicle accident with a fully involved car fire on Route 347. Upon arrival of all Chiefs, it was confirmed negative entrapment of any victims. 4-2-5 was the first due Engine which stretched a hand line, the fire was immediately extingushed and a signal 4 was transmitted. 3:22 AM House Fire on Stengel
FEBRUARY 26
- The Smithtown Fire Department was dispatched at 3:22 AM for a report of smoke in the house. The resident were awakened by the sound of the smoke detector alarms. They immediately smelled smoke, dialed 911 and was instructed to exit the house. First on scene was Asst Chief Murphy and then Chief Hansen.
